Tajik Health Minister Seeks Stronger Partnerships with Pakistan in Medical, IT and Insurance Sectors

The First Deputy Minister of Health of Tajikistan, Salomatdin Jabbor Yusufi, has called for expanded collaboration with Pakistan in joint ventures, medical education, health IT, and insurance sectors, highlighting growing people-to-people ties between the two countries.

He said Pakistani medical students studying in Tajikistan are playing an important role in strengthening bilateral cooperation. Around 450 Pakistani students are currently enrolled at Avicenna Tajik State Medical University in Dushanbe, which offers modern facilities aligned with international standards.

Yusufi shared these views during an interaction with a Pakistani media delegation led by Dr. Muhammad Abbas Mahar, CEO of MBBS Abroad Consultancy. Senior officials, university rectors, and health ministry representatives also attended the session.

He said Tajikistan aims to become a regional hub for affordable, high-quality medical education, inviting Pakistani institutions and the private sector to establish clinics, hospitals, and joint ventures. Opportunities were identified in telemedicine, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, insurance, public health, and health information technology.
