Over Six Million Pakistanis Use NADRA’s Pak-ID App for Digital Identity Services

More than six million citizens accessed their identity documents through the Pak-ID mobile application in 2025, highlighting growing trust in digital government services across Pakistan.

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) praised users for embracing the app, which has made identity-related services more accessible and convenient nationwide. Officials said the increasing adoption reflects the app’s key role in streamlining registration processes and advancing Pakistan’s digitalisation of public services.

NADRA also issued a clarification regarding updates to marital status. Citizens seeking to change their status from “Married” to “Divorced” must first obtain a khula or divorce decree from a family court or arbitration council. The divorce certificate request is then submitted at the Union Council (UC) where the marriage was registered, along with CNIC copies, witness details, and relevant case information.

The Pak-ID app continues to serve as a vital tool for millions, promoting easier access to identity services and supporting Pakistan’s broader push for digital governance.
