Lahore Traffic Police Unveil Special Plan to Manage New Year’s Eve Rush

The Lahore City Traffic Police have announced a special traffic management plan for New Year’s Eve to maintain smooth traffic flow and ensure public safety during the night-long celebrations across the city.

Following the directions of CTO Lahore Dr. Athar Waheed, large-scale arrangements have been finalized. More than 20 DSPs along with over 1,400 traffic wardens, inspectors, and administrative staff will be deployed on the roads under the supervision of senior officers.

Officials said additional personnel have been positioned at key locations, including Azadi Flyover, Liberty Chowk, Defence Main Boulevard, Mall Road, Jail Road, Canal Road, and Main Boulevard Gulberg. Special measures have also been taken at entry and exit points of Mall Road to avoid congestion during peak hours.

Punjab Police Vows Strict Action on Violations During New Year’s Eve

The Traffic Response Unit will remain on high alert to address wrong parking, traffic jams, and other disruptions throughout the night. Strict action will be taken against reckless driving, one-wheeling, drifting, road blockages, and dangerous stunts.

Dr. Athar Waheed urged parents to keep a close watch on their children, warning that motorcycles driven by underage riders will be confiscated immediately.
