FBR Suspends Six Officials for Missing Sugar Mills Monitoring Duties
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has suspended six officials after they were found absent from their assigned duties at sugar mills, the authority confirmed in an official statement.
These officials, appointed under Section 40B of the Sales Tax Act, 1990, were tasked with ensuring transparent monitoring of sugar production and compliance with regulatory standards.
Their absence came to light during routine checks conducted by the Large Tax Office (LTO) in Lahore, which monitors the performance and attendance of assigned teams.

Following the discovery, the LTO Lahore recommended disciplinary proceedings against the suspended officials in accordance with established rules and procedures.
The FBR stressed that such measures are essential to maintain accountability and integrity in monitoring critical industries like sugar production.
