Deadly Kite String Injures Motorcyclist in Lahore, CM Takes Immediate Notice

A young motorcyclist was seriously injured in Green Town, Lahore, after a sharp kite string struck him while he was riding, once again exposing the deadly risks linked to illegal kite flying in the city.

Following the incident, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif took immediate notice and sought a detailed report from the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore. She ordered strict legal action against those involved and directed authorities further to tighten enforcement of the province-wide ban on kite flying.

Lahore Offers Free Bus and Rickshaw Service During Basant Festival

Officials reminded the public that kite flying is a criminal offence under Punjab law. Those found involved in flying kites or selling hazardous strings can face five to seven years of imprisonment along with heavy financial penalties.

To strengthen public cooperation, the Punjab government announced a reward of Rs. 5,000 for anyone providing information that leads to action against violators.

Citizens were urged to promptly report kite flying or the sale of dangerous strings to protect lives and improve public safety across Lahore and other cities.
