Dense Fog Forces Fresh Motorway Closures Across Punjab
Dense fog once again disrupted travel across Punjab on Wednesday, forcing authorities to close several sections of the motorway network as visibility dropped sharply, according to 24NewsHD.
Officials said traffic was completely suspended on M-2, M-3, and M-4, while the M-11 motorway linking Lahore and Sialkot was closed for heavy vehicles due to unsafe driving conditions. Reduced visibility also slowed traffic movement on major highways, causing inconvenience for commuters.
Foggy conditions have become a daily occurrence in many parts of the province, regularly affecting early morning travel and increasing the risk of accidents. Motorists were advised to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary journeys during low-visibility hours.

Weather experts say dense fog commonly develops in the plains of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Sindh during December and January, especially during cold nights followed by calm winds. Authorities continue to monitor conditions and reopen routes once visibility improves.
