Islamabad’s Shaheen Underpass to Open for Traffic on December 31, Says Interior Minister Naqvi
The Shaheen Underpass in Islamabad will be opened to normal traffic from December 31, 2025, announced Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, according to 24NewsHD.
Naqvi visited the underpass early Monday to inspect the finishing and carpeting work. He also reviewed the horticulture and landscaping around the project, directing that more trees be planted to enhance the area.
The minister said the underpass at Shaheen Chowk will permanently ease traffic congestion, providing residents with smoother and faster transportation. “Citizens will have immense ease in commuting and will be relieved from traffic jams,” he added.
During the visit, Naqvi was briefed by CDA Chairman, along with the Inspector-General of Police Islamabad, CDA Member Engineering, and other officials, who accompanied him to review the project progress.
