NADRA Launches Advanced Fingerprint Verification System for Citizens

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a new digital fingerprint verification system, enhancing access for both local and overseas Pakistanis, reports 24NewsHD. The system is now available through NADRA’s Pak ID mobile application, allowing users to verify their fingerprints from home.

In cases where fingerprint scans fail due to worn fingerprints or technical issues, the system automatically provides an alternative facial verification option to prevent delays.

Director General of Immigration and Passports, Mustafa Jamal, said the upgrade addresses challenges faced by senior citizens and overseas Pakistanis, who often experienced difficulties with the previous system. The new tools aim to simplify biometric verification and reduce processing delays.

Jamal emphasized that this initiative is part of the government’s broader plan to integrate modern technology into digital services, ensuring passport and identity-related facilities are more efficient, accurate, and reliable for all citizens.
